Divorce financial consulting

Divorce financial consulting, from your first question to your final signature.

This is private divorce planning for women with complex finances. We build a full picture of what exists, put a real number against each option, and make sure you understand every document before you sign it.

You might recognize some of this.

  • You may have spent decades building a life, and want to be sure the decisions ahead protect it.

  • You may be looking at investment accounts, a business, real estate, retirement assets, or stock compensation and wondering what you should actually be asking for.

  • You may want to feel confident that the choices you make now will still feel right years from now.

  • Or you may simply want someone in the room who understands that divorce is not just about dividing a balance sheet. It is about figuring out what your life looks like afterward.

How it works

Four steps, and a finish line you can see.

You will always know what comes next, and we do not move on until you are comfortable with where we are.

  1. 01

    A complimentary first conversation

We talk before you commit to anything. It is complimentary and confidential, and by the end of it you will know whether I am the right person for your situation.

  2. 02

    Everything in one place

We locate the assets and build an organization system that makes sense to you, so that nothing anyone asks for later takes a week to find.

  3. 03

    What each option actually costs

We put a number against each path before you choose one: the house, the retirement accounts, the lifestyle you want, and your children’s education.

  4. 04

    Understand it, then sign it

I make sure you understand everything in front of you before anything is signed. My job is to keep you out of the dark.

Together we will

Seven things I will do with you.

  • 01Put you on an equal footing with your spouse when it comes to the money
  • 02Work through every financial question your divorce raises
  • 03Keep you moving forward with confidence instead of stalling
  • 04Work out the strongest financial structure available to you
  • 05Bring calm and structure to a stressful process
  • 06Help keep the cost and the timeline reasonable
  • 07Check that the settlement holds up for you financially over the long term

Stated up front

What this is not

I am not an attorney and I do not give legal advice, so you will keep your own attorney and I will work alongside them. Consulting is fee-only, which means nothing here is paid for by a commission and nothing is tied to how your divorce turns out.

Honestly

I will always tell you honestly whether I am the right fit.

If you are looking for someone to help you win at any cost, I am probably not the right person, and I will say so in our first conversation.

If what you need is legal representation, that is your attorney’s work rather than mine, and I will tell you plainly when a question belongs with them.

Questions

These are the things people ask before they call.

If the answer you need is not here, ask it directly. The first conversation is complimentary.

Yes. I am not an attorney and I do not give legal advice, so you will keep your own and I will work alongside them.

I am often brought in before that first legal meeting, because clients want the money questions answered before they walk in. It tends to make the time with your attorney more focused.

Consulting is fee-only. The fee is the only compensation I receive: no commissions, and nothing tied to the outcome of your divorce.

The first conversation is complimentary, so you can ask about fees before committing to anything.

Many of the women I speak with are not sure yet, and questions about money are one of the most common reasons that decision stalls.

Understanding the numbers does not commit you to anything. It just means that whatever you decide, you decide it with real information.

It is not, and there is no reason to be hard on yourself for having trusted your spouse with the finances.

That arrangement is extremely common, and it is a knowledge gap rather than a character flaw. Closing it is much of what we do together.

Yes. I work with clients across the United States. Consulting happens virtually, so where you live is not the deciding factor.

Ask the questions before you decide anything.

Bring whatever you have, including the questions you think you should already know the answer to. If someone else is the better call, I will say so.

Consultations are complimentary and confidential.
